One of key priorities of the Slovenian Presidency is investment in human capital. The Ministry of Finance of Slovenia in cooperation with Bruegel and the Center of Excellence in Finance is organizing a conference titled "Quality of Tertiary Education and the Economic Policy Agenda" that will take place in Ljubljana on 2 April 2008.

Enhancing the quality of tertiary education can bridge and facilitate the movement towards a "knowledge-based economy", "create more and better jobs" and contribute to sound fiscal positions. The conference will touch on the issues of macroeconomic dimension of tertiary education, its quality aspects and the European dimension.
