More: | Pursuant to the draft agenda of the European Parliament plenary session which will take place in Strasbourg from 21 to 24 April 2008, representatives of the EU Council Presidency will participate in the following discussions: on the afternoon of Tuesday 22 April, State Secretary for European Affairs Janez Lenarčič will deliver a statement on behalf on the EU Council on rising food prices in the EU and developing countries, while the Minister of Transport Radovan Žerjav will participate in a discussion on the Galileo Implementation Regulation. On the morning of Wednesday 23 April, State Secretary Janez Lenarčič will deliver a statement on behalf on the EU Council on the European Union-Latin America and Caribbean Summit due to take place in Peru in May, and the Minister of the Interior Dragutin Mate will deliver a statement on EU-USA negotiations on issues regarding a Visa Waiver Program. On Wednesday afternoon, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, will address MEPs at the formal sitting of the European Parliament. In the afternoon session State Secretary Janez Lenarčič will also deliver statements on the situation in Burma, illegal migration and Frontex, while the Minister for the Environment Janez Podobnik will present the Council's Strategy for participation in a Conference of the Parties of the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Protocol on Biosafety, to be held in Bonn in May. |
