The EU Troika ministerial meeting with South Africa will take place in Brdo pri Kranju on 3 June 2008. The European Commission will be represented by Louis Michel, European Commissioner for Development and Humanitarian Aid.

The partnership between the EU and the Republic of South Africa is based on the Trade, Development and Cooperation Agreement (TDCA) between the European Community and its Member States and the Republic of South Africa, which took effect on 1 May 2004.
