The second Western Balkans Civil Society Forum will provide a new opportunity for EESC members, representatives of civil society organisations from the region and from the EU, as well various European institutions and international organisations to exchange views on the situation, needs and future of civil society in specific areas. It should also identify subjects on which the EESC and Balkan civil society organisations can work together over the 2008-2010 period. The Forum is part of a broader effort to take forward the EU Stabilisation and Association Process and to promote civil society development, as recommended in the conclusions adopted by the GAERC meeting on 10 December 2007.
