One of the important topics to be discussed during Slovenia's Presidency will be the problems of young people. Related thereto, the European Commission published the communication “Promoting young people's full participation in education, employment and society", which provides an appropriate basis for further discussion of the problems of young people and the further development of the ESF as the oldest European fund, and in particular for discussion on how the ESF could most efficiently contribute to a more successful solution to the problems of young people. This applies in particular to the area of transition from the educational sphere to the labour market, the improvement of the level of education and especially the level of qualification of young people, to a reduction in the share of dropouts among the young and to the strengthening of the component of social integration of young people.
