The Symposium will provide a forum for representatives of universities, research institutions, industry and countries as mediators to present proposals for research and development projects, exchange opinions and experience, establish cooperation and links as well as to draw up the contents of projects for their integration into the European area. Special attention will be given to preparations for an overview of current research in the field of textiles in Slovenia, highlighting advantages and shortcomings in research work, in knowledge- and technology-transfer from research organisations to industry and in increasing the useability of research findings in production. The scientific programme of the Symposium will include research themes from the Seventh Framework Programme which impact on the field of textiles and, hence, constitute an important challenge for the Slovenian textile and clothing industry.
