The meeting of the ministers of finance from Asia and Europe (ASEM) will be attended by the ministers from 27 EU Member States and 16 Asian countries, representatives of the European Commission, the Asian Development Bank, the Secretariat of the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN), the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the European Central Bank.

The discussions at the meeting will take place under four headings, namely the following:

• macroeconomic situation, including the situation in financial markets,
• economic integration in the EU and Asia,
• infrastructure financing, and
• market measures for tackling climate change.
