More: | At the June plenary session of the European Parliament, held from 16 to 19 June in Strasbourg, Minister of the Interior Dragutin Mate will participate, on behalf of the Council, in the Tuesday morning debate on common standards and procedures in Member States for the return of illegally staying third-country nationals (the "Return Directive"). In the afternoon part of the Tuesday session, State Secretary for European Affairs Janez Lenarčič will attend the discussion on the internal energy market. On Wednesday, 18 June, State Secretary Janez Lenarčič will present to the morning assembly of MEPs the preparation of the June European Council following the Irish referendum. In the afternoon part of the session he will deliver a statement on behalf of the Council on the measures related to rising oil prices, answer the oral question regarding the crisis in the fisheries sector as a result of rising diesel prices, and present the preparation of the EU–Russia summit. The debates will be followed by question time, when State Secretary Lenarčič will answer oral parliamentary questions on behalf of the Council . |
