Pursuant to the draft agenda of the European Parliament plenary session to take place in Strasbourg from 10 to 13 March, the representatives of the EU Council Presidency will participate in the following discussions: on Tuesday, 11 March 2008, in the afternoon session, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Iztok Jarc will participate in debates on national quotas for milk and on the Health Check on the Common Agricultural Policy. In the continuation of the Tuesday session, State Secretary for European Affairs Janez Lenarčič will answer, on behalf of the Council, the oral question regarding the review of the "Lamfalussy" process. On Wednesday, 12 March, in the morning session devoted to the key debate, State Secretary for European Affairs Janez Lenarčič will deliver a statement in the name of the Council regarding the preparation of the spring meeting of the European Council. A formal sitting will be held at 15:00 in celebration of the European Parliament's fiftieth anniversary, the honourable guests being President of the European Council and Prime Minister of the Slovenian Government Janez Janša, President of the European Parliament Hans-Gert Pöttering, and President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso. In the afternoon session, State Secretary Janez Lenarčič will take part in the debate on the European Union's role in Iraq and deliver statements of the Council regarding the European code of conduct on arms exports and the situation in Chad. In conclusions to Wednesday afternoon session, State Secretary Janez Lenarčič will be answering oral questions of Members of the European Parliament.
