The meeting will be chaired by Slovenian Minister of Foreign Affairs and GAERC President Dimitrij Rupel. The European Commission will be represented by Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner, and the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union by Director of the Policy Unit Helga Schmid.  The Ukrainian delegation will be headed by Minister for Foreign Affairs Volodymyr Ogryzko.

At the plenary session, discussions will focus on a review of cooperation between the EU and Ukraine. This will be an opportunity to analyse progress made thus far and to look ahead. The interlocutors will pay particular attention to the course of negotiations between the EU and Ukraine on the New Enhanced Agreement, which will replace the present Partnership and Cooperation Agreement of 1998. Furthermore, they will also debate Ukraine’s cooperation in the fields of the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy, as well as regional and international affairs, with particular emphasis on cooperation in the peaceful resolution of frozen conflicts.
