On Thursday 29 and Friday 30 May 2008, Brdo pri Kranju will host the traditional Informal Meeting of Chiefs of Protocol of the European Union Member States at the invitation of the Chief of Protocol of the Republic of Slovenia, Mrs Ksenija Benedetti, and the Head of Diplomatic Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Jože Hlep.

Discussions at the meeting will focus on diplomatic immunity and road traffic offences, parking spaces for foreign diplomatic missions and protocol gifts. The types of visits of Heads of State, Prime Ministers and Foreign Ministers will be discussed; the agenda also includes the matter of domestic staff employed by diplomats and the employment of family members of diplomats.
