Dr Dimitrij Rupel, President of the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, met the Serbian Foreign Minister, Vuk Jeremić, in Luxembourg today.
The ministers focused particularly on the European perspective for Serbia, with Minister Rupel assuring his Serbian counterpart of Slovenia's interest in signing a Stabilization and Association Agreement, which would represent the start of Serbia drawing closer to the European Union. “The Slovenian Presidency of the EU Council is striving to overcome the obstacles and bring about the signing of the Agreement tomorrow,” stated Minister Rupel to the media after his meeting with Minister Jeremić.
