The Senior Officials’ Meeting on Trade and Investment (SOMTI) is always held prior to the meeting of ASEM Economic Ministers for preparatory work on the subject matter of the ASEM meeting. The Senior Officials will discuss topics related to economic relations between Europe and Asia that are scheduled to be on the agenda of the next ASEM Economic Ministers’ Meeting to take place in Indonesia on 10-11 July 2008.

SOMTI is assisted by a group of four Coordinators, currently from China and Brunei on the Asian side, and from the EU Presidency (Slovenia) and the European Commission on the European side.
