During its Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Slovenia will organise, in cooperation with the Committee of the Regions, a discussion on the implementation of the new legal instrument, the European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation (EGTC), and the aims of the neighbourhood policy, where special attention will be paid to cooperation in the Alpine region, the Mediterranean area, the Pannonian Plain and with the Western Balkans. The Committee of the Regions set up a group of 31 experts who will be joined by Slovenian experts and members of the Slovenian delegation in the Committee of the Regions and by representatives of ministries and government offices. Representatives of professional services of the European Commission and European Parliament will also be invited to the meeting.
