More: | Before the end of the Slovenian EU Council Presidency, in accordance with existing practice, the Slovenian Minister of the Economy, Andrej Vizjak, current President of the EU Competitiveness Council and also the Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council, will report to the MEPs on two European Parliament committees on progress made in their specific fields of competence. Slovenian Minister of the Economy Andrej Vizjak will appear before the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) on Monday 2 June 2008. During the Slovenian EU Council Presidency, IMCO has so far concluded three major dossiers – the proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on credit agreements for consumers; the goods package, and the Customs Code. Minister Vizjak will focus mainly on these; the discussion, however, will also definitely touch upon the proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the European Council on the protection of consumers in respect of certain aspects of timeshare, long-term holiday products, resale and exchange – in this area, the trialogue is expected to conclude shortly. |
