More: | At the invitation of the Japanese Minister of Finance, the Slovenian Minister of Finance and current President of the EU Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN), Dr Andrej Bajuk, will attend the G8 Finance Ministers Meeting on 13 and 14 June in Osaka. He has been invited in his capacity as President of the ECOFIN Council and, in the discussions, will present positions harmonised within the EU. In addition to the G8 countries (France, Italy, Japan, Canada, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America), the G8 Summit meeting will be attended by the Finance Ministers of Australia, Indonesia, South Korea and Thailand as well as the ECOFIN Council President, a representative of the European Commission, representatives of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, Asian Development Bank and the President of the Financial Stability Forum. Discussions will fall under three headings:
