The meeting of the Environment Council will be chaired by Janez Podobnik, Slovenian Minister for the Environment and Spatial Planning. The discussion will cover conclusions for submission to the spring European Council meeting to be held on 13 and 14 March. Conclusions will address climate change and energy, halting biodiversity loss, environmental technologies, sustainable consumption and production, and better regulation. The EU Ministers will hold a policy debate on the climate-energy legislative package and measures to reduce CO2 emissions from passenger cars and light-duty vehicles.
