One meeting under the auspices of the EU-Russia Permanent Partnership Council has so far been held during the Slovenian Presidency, on freedom, security and justice. This time, the Presidency will organise a Permanent Council meeting on science and research. Discussions will focus on making the Common Research Space between the EU and Russia a reality and on opening discussions on the Russian Federation’s joining the Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development. Adoption of a joint declaration of intent regarding cooperation between the EU and Russia in the field of science is planned at the conclusion of the meeting.
