IMPEL is the European Union Network for the Implementation and Enforcement of Environmental Law. Its core objective is to extend the application of good practices by promoting the exchange of information and experience in terms of implementing and enforcing European Community environmental legislation. Cooperation between European countries under the auspices of the IMPEL network commenced in 1992. The association currently includes 30 European countries.
