EU Foreign Ministers Troika – New Zealand

The President of the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dimitrij Rupel, will lead tomorrow's meeting of the EU Troika with New Zealand.   The Troika meeting will be attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand Winston Peters and by a representative of the Commission and of the Secretary-General of the EU Council.

The first part of the Troika meeting will be devoted to a review of EU-New Zealand relations and of the implementation of the Common statement on relations and cooperation, adopted on 21 September 2007. Special attention will be accorded to a review of the situation of negotiations for concluding agreements on science and technology cooperation, air transport and wine trade. The second part of the talks will focus on political dialogue aiming at current international issues.  Special emphasis will be placed on an exchange of views on the situation in Kosovo, Afghanistan, the Middle East and climate change, as well as relations in the Asian-Pacific region.
