| More: | Balanced diet and physical activity are important factors for maintaining a healthy way of life at all ages. During the German presidency, the Slovenian Ministry of Health decided to continue the baton project and emphasise the importance of healthy and balanced diet as well as regular physical activity for people's health. As part of the event which will be organised in Slovenia, we wish to stress primarily importance of inter-sectoral cooperation in the areas of fulfilling nutrition and exercise policies and monitoring. In Slovenia we have a relatively long tradition of activities involving the concept of investing in health and development, so to this end we will hold a workshop under the auspices of the WHO Office in Venice. The aim of the workshop is to present approaches of this concept. Here we wish to give special attention to the pilot project "Investing in Health and Development – the MURA project", which has been developed in the Pomurje region as a result of poor health and social indicators. |
