Various summer festivals in other cities and towns also offer a host of enjoyable experiences. Feel the aroma of good life

A sunny day awakens the senses and promises adventure. Along the picturesque streets of the past drift the scents of evergreen Mediterranean vegetation…

Green Mediterranean . Koper, Izola and Piran – cities on its threshold. Portorož – tourist bustle infused with centuries of tradition. Small villages among olive groves and vineyards.

All this is the Green Mediterranean. Here, on a stretch of less than fifty kilometres, you can breathe in all the diversity of the Mediterranean. Picturesque medieval city cores shake hands with ancient inner harbours with fishing boats, a landscape full of evergreen vegetation invites you to enjoy an active holiday, and comfortable hotels with luxurious swimming pools guarantee all the comfort even in the winter season. Portorož , once the “Port of Roses”, is today an attractive seaside resort, a congress and sports centre, and the host town of a variety of events. It boasts a marina, a tourist and recreation airfield Airport of Portorož , a casino, and thermal spas. Not far from the waves of the Adriatic is Slovenian Istria, a place with a rich ethnographic and culinary tradition. Among the ancient Istrian settlements, Hrastovlje is especially interesting not least for the unique Late Gothic frescoes in its church.

Breathe in every experience

Anchor your yacht in a modern marina or see the Green Mediterranean on an outing in a rented motorboat, sailboat, or on a charter cruise.

Land at the airfield by the sea, or take a panoramic flight over the salt pans and Slovenian Istria. Relax in selected baths, treat yourself to a massage, or invigorate your body and mind with exercise in or on the water, on a playing field, in an entertainment centre or casino, on a dance floor…

The Slovenian coast stretches only 46.6 kilometres, but the influences of the sea reach well into the interior.

Along with the highest flysch cliff in the Adriatic (80 metres), Strunjan Landscape Park also protects the characteristic halophyte plants that grow in salty soil. Because of the many bird species found here, the Sečovlje Salt Pans Landscape Park is listed on the UNESCO list of internationally important wetlands. In the park there is also an open-air Salt-making Museum.

You can swim, dive, fish, sail, windsurf, cycle, fly, play tennis, etc.

Drop anchor in the marinas in Koper , Izola , and Portorož .
